VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY : Introduction

The Vellore Institute of Technology is a Deemed University that offers over a dozen academic streams that you can choose from for your B.Tech programme. The objective of the University is to provide quality education to the students of all states of India who are admitted on the basis of their performance. To achieve the above objective, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has been conducting an Entrance Examination for admission to B.Tech. Degree Programmes.

Eligibility:

A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB)

A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology(PCM / PCB) for Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST category must fill in the Performa as given in form and have it attested by competent authority

Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh should fill in CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY . These documents should be produced at the time of counseling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes
Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes
Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination is also eligible.

Admission Procedure:

Advertisement given regarding issue of application forms, important dates etc., in all leading newspapers all over India and notified in the VIT website.
Applications can be obtained from selected Post Offices / may be obtained by post from VIT.
Entrance exam conducted in major cities all over India.
Publication of VITEEE results in leading websites.
Call for counseling in batches and allotment of branches on the basis of the rank.

VITEE Important Dates:

Issue of VITEEE application Forms starts from December last.
Last date for the Sale/Receipt of filled VITEEE Application forms - February (Mid Approx).
VITEEE Applications can be obtained from selected post offices through out India, the details will be furnished in the website
VITEEE Date - Engg. Entrance Examination will be held on April (Mid Approx)
